Statkraft Ventures supports further growth of Stuttgart-based GovTech start-up vialytics
Düsseldorf, 6 September 2021 - Together with existing investor EnBW New Ventures (ENV), Statkraft Ventures is financing the further growth of the artificial intelligence company vialytics.
Steffen Funck, Managing Director at Statkraft Ventures, also confirms: "In the last twelve months, vialytics has developed excellently. We are pleased to be able to support the team as it continues to scale."
With its investment in the market leader in the municipal infrastructure software segment, vialytics, Statkraft Ventures is strengthening its portfolio in the smart city sector.
More than 150 municipalities in Germany and other European countries use vialytics' artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology. The vialytics system automatically detects road damage and inventory and evaluates this data objectively. The images and data collected are made available to municipalities in a geographic information system (web GIS). Dangerous spots can thus be automatically detected in time and necessary rehabilitation measures can be efficiently planned.
The solution is suitable for cities and districts of any size – for example, the Heidekreis, cities such as Soest and Konstanz, and the major cities of Prague and Paris-Saclay use the vialytics system.
Artificial intelligence for safe roads and cycle paths
vialytics was launched in 2017 by the three founders Achim Hoth, Patrick Glaser and Danilo Jovicic-Albrecht. "Citizens want to get to their destination safely by car or bike. Our system helps all municipalities to simplify their day-to-day operations from route control to maintenance management to ensure safe roads and cycle paths," say the vialytics founders.
"Since our last investment, vialytics has grown strongly and has established itself throughout Germany. We’re excited to support the team in their first steps outside Germany," says Theodor Schulte, Investment Manager at ENV.
